aha, ma se prendi il pacchetto primavera club + sound ora lo paghi un cazzo, tipo 95 euro per 3 + 3 giorni + altri 3 di "roba minore" pre e post sound...

ho già dovuto prendere 2 festival di elettronica seri in UK per la primavera che verrà, www.blocweekend.com e sopratutto www.bangfaceweekender.com perchè stanno già per esaurire, anche se tipo del secondo non è stato ancora fatto un nome, ma vista la bill dello scorso anno ed il clima trovato...

ho visto lo streaming del loro live a Glastonbury nel 2004 ed era stato una bomba, se non erro fu una delle ultime se non l'ultima apparizione.. avercene! :)

dissento anche sugli 808 state: le due volte che li ho visti sono sempre stati all'altezza, magari un po' discontinui ma soggettivamente più che validi, mi sono divertito in entrambe le occasioni.. sarà che mi piacciono un casino anche su disco

ESTRELLA DAMM PRIMAVERA SOUND LAUNCHES A STAGE CURATED BY PITCHFORK

The most important news on Estrella Damm Primavera Sound this year is the addition of a stage curated by the prestigious musical website, Pitchfork Media, which is the current music referent of a whole generation. Besides their influential website, Pitchfork has expanded its activities in the recent years, creating an online TV (Pitchfork.tv), and a festival that takes place in Chicago during the month of July (Pitchfork Festival). Last year Pitchfork has also made its entrance into the publishing world with "The Pitchfork 500 - Our Guide to the greatest songs from Punk to the Present".

The collaboration with the american website will ensure the presence of the best new bets in the worldwide indie scene in Barcelona, always along with the philosophy of the festival and the particular style parameters that have made of Pitchfork a platform for the most innovating proposals. It's not in vain that the first appearances in the mass media for bands like Arcade Fire, Animal Collective or Bon Iver were through this website and even part of the success they have, was built through the unconditional support of their editorial line. With the intention to take profit of that mediatic echo, the Pitchfork stage will give a space for the most exciting national proposals of the moment.

Vivian Girls' and Wavves' fuzz pop, the shoegaze pop flavorings of Crystal Stilts, The Tallest Man On Earth's swedish folk, the new sounds from Baltimore distilled by Ponytail, the powerful psychedelia of Crystal Antlers, Kevin Martin's The Bug, in which he collides dancehall, grime, noise and dubstep in one of the records of the year, the folk pop of Bowerbirds, the spectacular live set of the experimental punk band The Mae Shi's, and Plants & Animals from Canada, conform this new gang of confirmed bands. All of them will perform on the stage Pitchfork is curating for Estrella Damm Primavera Sound 2009, which will take place from May 28th to May 30th in Barcelona's Parc Del Fòrum.

To these bands, we must add the artists previously confirmed: My Bloody Valentine, who will perform twice at the festival, the space rock of the british band Spiritualized, the songwriter from Seattle Damien Jurado, the New Yorkers of Gang Gang Dance, the intimate folk singer Alela Diane on her first visit to Barcelona, the british pianist Michael Nyman, Extra Life presenting their debut album "Secular Works", the rockabilly of the very young brothers Kitty, Daisy and Lewis, the bond between pop and punk rock performed by the americans The Soft Pack, also from the U.S. Throwing Muses and the indie cult band, The Vaselines.

Next Thursday January 15th is the last day to buy at the price of 90€ the full festival ticket, which will cost 115€ from January 16th. One of the world's greatest rock bands will play Roskilde Festival as this summer's only Scandinavian festival concert.
At long last, we are ready to announce our first act. A stadium rock band who – despite having only existed for a little over 10 years – has sold more than 30 million albums.
COLDPLAY (UK) visits Roskilde Festival for the first time since 2003. Back then they proved to be in excellent form on the Orange Stage. In 2009, the band has chosen to play at only three European festivals –Roskilde, Werchter and Arras. We are happy and proud that Coldplay has chosen to play this summer's only Scandinavian festival concert at Roskilde.
The four Brits broke through in 2000 with the album Parachutes. Since then they have rubbed shoulders with U2, Oasis and Radiohead. Bands that Coldplay is an obvious successor of with its grandiose arena rock and star-gazing ballads. A parade of hit singles and best-selling albums have kept Coldplay at the top of the game in the new millenium. Latest release is the EP Prospekt’s March which came out shortly after the album Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends.
We are happy to start festival season 2009 with a name that has just won the award of 'Best Act In The World Today' in the leading music magazine Q as well as 'World's Best Selling Recording Act' at the World Music Awards 2008.

beh, questo è quel che ha detto il tipo in conferenza, ma considera che secondo me non lo sanno manco loro quanti nomi in totale andranno a confermare. di solito i nomi al primavera sono circa 150, ma in un'altra occasione sempre lo stesso organizzatore ha detto che ci saranno meno nomi quest'anno.

devo dire che, guardando e riguardando la line-up 2009 del Primavera Sound, e pur avendo partecipato alle edizioni 2004, 2005 e 2007 (+2008 Club), in tutta franchezza questa mi pare overall la più forte, la migliore

dovrò riguardarla meglio, forse, e naturalmente entrano in gioco personalismi, ovverosia artisti che mi mancan da vedere in quantità, per una volta, ma mi pare davvero una bomba

ditemi voi se si potrà mai mancare a 'sto cazzo di festival qui, che non che sia il mio preferito in assoluto forse, però quanto a line-up è una dose annuale non sufficiente ma pressochè strettamente necessaria.

Music in all kinds of colours to Roskilde

Fever Ray, Fleet Foxes, The Mars Volta and Den Sorte Skole are this week's new acts.
In true Roskilde spirit, we have a mixed music package again this week. Whether you are into nightly electro, grandiose vocal harmonies, far out instrumental jams or intense genre mixtures, there is something in store for you.
FEVER RAY (S) is a new project by Karin Dreijer Andersson, one half of The Knife. Her solo project continues the style from the sibling duo's Silent Shout – eerie and atmospheric electro that can almost make snowdrop flowers and other heralds of spring wither.
FLEET FOXES (US) offers Beach Boys-like vocal harmonies combined with rustic folk music from long before the world was out of joint. The Seattle band is one of the most critically appraised young acts today, and they are played everywhere – from small alternative cafes to giant London megastores. Fans of gorgeous, acoustic pop music should not miss out on this.
THE MARS VOLTA (US) consists of some of the members from now-defunct post-hardcore band At the Drive-In. But this band draws just as much on Pink Floyd, Santana and improvised jazz music. Their live concerts are famous for being a psychedelic tour de force where the Americans prove their technical and musical mastery. Unfortunately, the eight men strong band had to cancel when they were last on the programme in 2005. Therefore, we are happy to finally present them again in 2009.
DEN SORTE SKOLE (DK) mixes everything from Turkish traditional songs and Indian hymns to hip hop and dubstep in their own explosive hotchpotch. The concert at Roskilde Festival offers new twisted and surprising style-mixtures from the vinyl lovers who were responsible for one of last year's greatest pop up experiences at Roskilde Skate. This year they deserve to be part of the official programme.

l'ultimo stronzo che mai difenderà Live Nation me sa che sò io, però a onor del vero.... è vero!

ovverosia, per il target che decidono di avere evidentemente non riescono a chiudere 3-4 headliner, e con un headliner solo, per dire, non si fa un festival. è un fenomeno abbastanza raro ma talvolta accade ovunque in Europa, di cancellare un festival con questa motivazione. fidatevi.

NINE INCH NAILS (US) have taken the cold and mechanic stylistic features from industrial and passed them on to more wide-ranging rock. The undisputed front man Trent Reznor has added choruses, pop riffs and emotional lyrics to a traditionally clinical music genre – resulting in millions of sold records. The latest and – according to Reznor himself – perhaps last album from Nine Inch Nails is called The Slip. It is available for download free of charge on the band's own website – as a token of appreciation from a popular artist to his devoted fans.

ecco il fatto:

come qualcuno già sa (e scusatemi se ho rinunciato, poi rideciso, poi rinunciato ancora) avevo in mente di andare al primavera. Poi la trafila di cui sopra, ed ora di nuovo ho la possibilità di avere qualche soldo per andare. E' una cosa a cui tengo particolarmente, visto anche il cartellone bellissimo di quest'anno, quindi faccio sto tentativo finale.

In realtà per qualche istante ho pensato al roskilde, però costa davvero TROPPI soldi, e risparmiare anche solo 100 euro è importante per me.

Il punto è: c'è qualcuno che ha prenotato appartamenti ed avrebbe la possibilità di aggiungere due persone? In realtà ho già beccato ostelli a prezzi umani, però se si può fare l'ammucchiata è sempre meglio, e farei spendere qualche soldo in meno a qualcuno :)

insomma, se riuscite a dirmi a breve ok, altrimenti ci si vede lì :p

151 acts – including 74 brand-new – are now ready for this summer’s festival.

The 39th Roskilde Festival has bent the bow with a myriad of new initiatives and exciting humanitarian work. In the course of this spring, we will reveal everything from a food bazaar to audience parties and environment and climate focus. But not today. Today is all about the music – the music which is the heart and energetic pulse of Roskilde Festival.

We have 151 acts from practically all continents and genres ready for our seven stages – 74 of which are brand-new. And as always, you can expect a bulging cornucopia – from catchy tunes of the radio to foreign scents of the third world. Again this year, Roskilde Festival seeks to deliver a mirror of the endlessly rich array of music which exists around the world map today. Below, you will find a variation and range unlike that of any other western music festival.

All this – and much more...
With today's announced poster, the majority of the programme is in place. Still, we will announce more good stuff in the coming period so that we – as always – land with a programme of about 175 acts, playing on 7 stages. That is two to three times more acts than most of the European festivals that we are typically compared to.

il campeggio è l'inferno. tre anni fa è stato vivibile..due anni fa un inferno. freddo assurdo di notte, fango nelle calze mentre andavo in bagno la prima sera. e poi.. gli inglesi/crucchi et altri del cazzo che sono incivili.
mi hanno consigliato degli hotel a poco nei paraggi, però bisogna avere la macchina (noleggio?).

forza sziget!! io l'ho sparato 3 volte e non delude mai..il cartellone degli artisti conta sempre relativamente perchè è tutto ciò che vi è all'interno che fa la differenza. al pukkelpop ci sono sempre troppi artisti dal mio punto di vista, puoi solo vedere concerti, arrivi a mezzanotte pieno di birra-piscio e carne-merda che tra un pò anche i radiohead ti danno noia.

budapest: ho provato a guardare quelle che uso io di solito e no, non diretti almeno (ryanair via dublino, glasgow, bristol ed east mids, easyjet via londra, parigi, ginevra e dortmund).
krakov: figherrimo il festival (linkiamo va www.unsound.pl) fin d'ora, il periodo me gusta, ne seguirò gli sviluppi e grazie per la segnalazione.

Tanto sappi che nel caso dovessi sentire la mancanza della terra italica, ma anche per avere magari qualche informazione o dritta, incontrerai italiani in qualsiasi parte del mondo e a qualsiasi festival.

Di viaggi in solitaria ne ho fatti tanti e mi sono sempre divertito anche perchè, se sei un minimo pratico con l'inglese, conoscerai un sacco di persone che magari stanno nella tua stessa situazione !!! :-D

As with previous years, those aged over 13 who wish to buy tickets must register on Glastonburyregistration.co.uk (http://www.glastonburyregistration.co.uk/) before applying for tickets. Glastonbury (http://www.nme.com/artists/glastonbury)'s £50 deposit scheme will also be in place this year, giving fans the option of reserving a ticket ahead of paying the full price next February.

Weekend tickets for Glastonbury (http://www.nme.com/artists/glastonbury) 2010 cost £185 – £10 up on last year's price – plus £5 booking fee (and £4.95 postage).

Speaking in a Q&A on Glastonburyfestivals.co.uk (http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/news/michael-eavis-expectations-are-really-high), festival organiser Michael Eavis said he had hoped to keep the ticket price the same as the 2009 festival, but was unable to.

"[The prise has risen] a little bit, I'm afraid. I do try and hold it down, but the girls doing the budgeting are so thorough and so clever, and they said: 'Look, the minimum rise we can get away with is 10 quid more'. It is a shame, because I really wanted to hold the price."

Eavis also denied he has any plans to retire in the near future, saying: "There's no thought of me retiring whatsoever. I've got no interest in retirement. One day I'll have no choice, presumably, but while I can choose I've got no interest in retirement."

Elsewhere, Eavis confirmed that he's been talking to potential acts to play in 2010, adding that "some of the artists out there are particularly interested in the fact that it's 40 years" since Glastonbury (http://www.nme.com/artists/glastonbury) started.

He also confirmed that the camper van field has been increased by a thousand spaces.

The tenth edition of Primavera Sound is gathering momentum, and this year we have decided to take the usual participation of the festival’s public through our forum, one step further. The process is simple: Choose the years you have been to the festival, and once you have done this chose five artists from each edition, except in 2001 in which there are only two options. From this first stage we will get 50 artists, from which 25 will be chosen in the second stage. From these 25 acts we will ask the public to chose who should play at Primavera Sound 2010.

We will do everything possible to bring the artists who are chosen in this survey to our tenth anniversary, we think that it is a nice way to celebrate ten years of something which has become for many people (including ourselves) an unmissable musical event.

U2 (http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/u2) will headline next year's Glastonbury (http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/glastonbury) festival, it was confirmed today. Bono and co have been slated for the Pyramid stage's top spot on Friday 26 June, in what will be their first ever appearance at the festival. Organiser Michael Eavis had promised something special for Glastonbury's 40th anniversary, and in booking a band who have been rumoured to headline every year since the mid 1980s, he's done just that.
"The 26-year-old rumour has finally come true," Eavis said. "At last, the biggest band in the world are going to play the best festival in the world! Nothing could be better for our 40th anniversary party. And there are even more surprises in the pipeline."
Eavis added: "We've been trying for years ... and now we've finally made it happen. I'm sure they will pull out all the stops to make next year's Glastonbury the most memorable ever."
U2 will fly to the UK to play the Somerset festival in the middle of their North American tour.
Earlier this year, Bono told BBC Radio 1 that U2 had not been confirmed to play the festival in 2010, but was sure they would play Glastonbury at some point. "I know lots of people who love music want us to. It's something we're working up our whole life to do."
Tickets for next year's Glastonbury sold out in October after organisers decided to release them early – a scheme that proved successful last year. The festival will take place between Friday 26 and
Sunday 28 June 2010. So far, no other headliners have been confirmed. The Guardian is the official media sponsor of Glastonbury festival.

comunque invidia perchè Glasto è davvero forse l'unica istituzione in quanto tale e alla fine anche concerti così hanno molto più senso lì che in qualche altro festivalone. ho ancora in vhs gli highlights del 2002 che avevo registrato da Tele + con molti tra cui Rod Stewart, Coldplay.. che gran cosa una tantum, altrochè

The Prodigy, Kasabian, PiL, The Specials e Ian Brown primeras incorporaciones

Comenzamos a dar forma a lo que será el cartel de la XVI edición de FIB Heineken, Festival Internacional de Benicàssim, con la incorporación de los primeros artistas al cartel: The Prodigy, Kasabian, PiL, The Specials, Ian Brown y Dizzee Rascal.

Los techno-punks de Braintree The Prodigy, con Howlett dirigiendo los ‘beats’ y Flint agitando a las masas, viven un segundo momento de gloria gracias a su notable ‘Invaders Must Die’ (2009).

Kasabian, por su parte, regresan al festival abalados por el éxito de ‘West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum’ (2009), su tercer trabajo. Canciones y ritmos herederos del Manchester de Stone Roses y Happy Mondays, unas gotas de psicodelia y bajos sincopados conforman la fórmula del cuarteto de Leicester.

John Lydon inmediatamente después de finiquitar a The Sex Pistols, dio vida a Public Image Ltd., también conocidos como PiL. Publicaron un álbum de referencia del after-punk: ‘Metal Box’ (1979), trabajo que abrió nuevos caminos al rock. A finales de 2009, John Lydon anunció la reunión de la banda para celebrar el trigésimo aniversario de ‘Metal Box’.

A rebufo del punk y alentados, por los primeros flirteos de The Clash con los ritmos jamaicanos –reggae y dub, básicamente- Gran Bretaña contempló a finales de los 70 una eclosión de bandas que retorcieron el ska y el rocksteady, redefiniendo y adaptando sus ritmos y miras. The Specials fueron, junto con Madness, el grupo más importante de aquella oleada de aire fresco ‘skatalítica’.

‘My Way’ (2009) continúa la senda al alza que abrieron ‘Solarized’ (2004) y ‘The World is Yours’ (2007) del que fuera ‘frontman’ de The Stone Roses, Ian Brown. Entre ‘Stillify’, previamente grabada por Rihanna, y la versión de ‘In the Year 2525’ de Zager & Evans bascula el sonido actual de Brown, entre el pop de toda la vida y el R´n´B más exuberante.

Por último, el rapero Dizzee Rascal también ha confirmado su asistencia a FIB Heineken 2010. ‘Tongue N´Cheek’ (2009), su último trabajo, ha dado un giro hacía el pop gracias, entre otras cosas, a temas como ‘Dance Wiv Me’ producido por Calvin Harris.

SAN MIGUEL PRIMAVERA SOUND GOES BACK TO THE POBLE ESPANYOL

After celebrating its most crowded and successful edition on all levels, San Miguel Primavera Sound already has its dates and news for its 2011 edition and San Miguel Primavera Club is already up and running with the first confirmed artists.
San Miguel Primavera Club will take place simultaneously in various venues of Barcelona and Madrid from the 24th until the 28th of November this year. The first batch of confirmed artists for this event, is led by the Scottish band Teenage Fanclub, a member of Dinosaur Jr. and the lead singer of Sebadoh, Lou Barlow in solo and the artisans of electro rock Holy Fuck. Also to be noted are the exclusive performance by the Barcelona band Cornflakes after their comeback concert at the 20th anniversary of the BCore label and the first live concerts, in our country of Male Bonding, Eat Skull and Wild Nothing. To round off this first batch Lüger, from Madrid, one of the most promising national bands, the Americans Ganglians and Guadalupe Plata with their primitive blues.
San Miguel Primavera Sound 2011 will take place from the 25th until the 29th of May next year, and the programme will be split between two historic sites of the festival: on the 25th and the 29th of May the concerts will take place in the Poble Espanyol, and the rest of the days will be in the Parc del Fòrum as always.
SALE OF TICKETS:
From 10.00 h in the morning of the wednesday 21st of July the following tickets will go on sale in Codetickets exclusively:
-San Miguel Primavera Club Barcelona 2010 + San Miguel Primavera Sound 2011 VIP and San Miguel Primavera Club Madrid 2010 + San Miguel Primavera Sound 2011 VIP at the price of 175 € + booking fee
-San Miguel Primavera Sound 2011 VIP at the price of 150 € + booking fee
There will be a four ticket limit per person when buying both San Miguel Primavera Club 2010 + San Miguel Primavera Sound 2011 VIP and San Miguel Primavera Sound 2011 VIP.
VIP full festival tickets must be picked up during San Miguel Primavera Sound 2011.
From Thursday 22nd the following tickets will go on sale in Codetickets and Ticketmaster:
-San Miguel Primavera Club Barcelona 2010 + San Miguel Primavera Sound 2011 and San Miguel Primavera Club Madrid 2010 + San Miguel Primavera Sound 2011 at the price of 125 € + booking fee
